You Don't Have to Keep Managing This Alone.

Hafina Allen, LCSW, licensed clinical social worker and therapist

You've been holding it together for a long time. Managing the anxiety that won't quiet down. Pushing through the days when motivation has gone flat. Lying awake at 3am while the rest of the world sleeps. Functioning well enough that no one around you would guess how much effort that actually takes.

And somewhere along the way, you've started wondering whether this is just how it is or whether things could actually be different.

They can.

Most of my clients aren't in crisis. They're capable, high-functioning adults who have been managing things on their own for longer than they should have and who are ready to stop managing and start actually changing. Whether it's anxiety, depression, insomnia, OCD or panic, these are specific, treatable things. Not character flaws, not permanent states. Things we can work on together with approaches that are proven to work.

What becomes possible in therapy isn't just feeling less bad. It's getting back the version of yourself that has the bandwidth to actually be present for the life you've worked so hard to build.

I'm Hafina Allen, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with adults who hold themselves to a high standard. My approach is evidence-based, structured and tailored to your actual life, not a generic version of it. Telehealth means I can work with you wherever you are in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, North Dakota or New Hampshire.

If you're ready to stop just getting through it, I'd love to connect.

You've built a life that looks good from the outside.

I'm here for what's happening on the inside.

Specialties

I work with adults facing the challenges that come with high expectations of themselves, their work, and their lives.

  • A woman sitting on a couch holding her head in distress, with a park or outdoor view visible through the window in the background.

    Anxiety Therapy

For the overthinker who can't turn their brain off and the high-achiever whose standards are quietly exhausting them.

  • A woman with brown hair wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt sitting on a couch, hugging a beige pillow and resting her head on it with her eyes closed.

    Depression Therapy

When motivation fades, joy feels distant, and going through the motions is the best you can manage right now.

  • A woman lying on her side awake in bed with a worried expression, resting her head on a pillow, with an alarm clock showing 6:03 in the foreground.

    Insomnia Therapy

When your body is exhausted but your mind won't stop CBT-I is the gold-standard, non-medication approach to lasting sleep.

  • Man sitting with his head bowed into his clasped hands, appearing overwhelmed, in front of a bright office window

    OCD Therapy

When the doubt keeps coming back no matter how much you reason with it. I-CBT gets underneath the obsessive cycle rather than just managing the anxiety around it.

  • Man in a checkered shirt pressing his hand against his chest

    Panic disorder Therapy

When panic attacks have started shaping what you do, where you go, and what you avoid. CBT breaks the cycle so panic stops running your life.

  • Young man outdoors holding his hand up to block his face from view

    Phobia Therapy

When a specific fear, flying, driving, needles or anything else has quietly started shrinking your world. ERP helps you take it back, one step at a time.
