If you've been lying awake night after night wondering if you'll ever sleep well again, CBT-I, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, is likely what you've been looking for. It's the gold-standard, non-medication treatment for chronic insomnia, and it works.
I offer CBT-I via telehealth to adults in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, Illinois, and North Dakota. Rather than masking sleep problems with medication, CBT-I addresses the thoughts, habits, and patterns that are keeping you awake — so the results actually last. If sleepless nights are running your life, I'd love to talk. Schedule a free consultation here.

Finding the right therapist is one of the most important decisions you can make for your mental health, so it's worth taking seriously. A few things to look for: a licensed clinician with specific training in evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a clear area of focus that matches what you're going through, and someone whose style feels like a genuine fit, both warm and practical.
I specialize in anxiety and depression for adults who are managing a lot on the outside while quietly struggling on the inside. My approach is collaborative and rooted in CBT, which means we won't just talk about how you feel, we'll work on real tools and strategies you can use between sessions. If that sounds like what you need, I'd be happy to connect. Book a free 15-minute call here.

Great question. The fact that you're asking it tells me you're approaching this thoughtfully. When looking for a CBT therapist, here's what matters most:
Specific training in CBT, not just familiarity with it. CBT is a structured, skills-based approach, and the best practitioners have received dedicated training and ongoing education in it. I hold advanced CBT training and am currently completing certification through the Beck Institute, one of the most respected CBT training programs in the world.
A specialization that matches your needs. CBT is used for a wide range of concerns. Make sure your therapist has experience applying it to what you're dealing with, whether that's anxiety, depression, or insomnia.
A style you can work with. CBT is collaborative and practical, but the relationship still matters. Look for someone who is both warm and direct, someone who will support you and also challenge you in the right ways.
Telehealth availability (if flexibility matters to you). All of my sessions are conducted via telehealth, so you get consistent, high-quality care without the commute.

Yes and honestly, it's something I feel strongly about. No two people experience anxiety, depression, or insomnia the same way, and a one-size-fits-all approach rarely gets to the heart of what's actually going on for you.
My style is intentionally flexible. I draw from several evidence-based approaches, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and CBT-I for insomnia, and I find the right combination based on what you're dealing with and how you work best. For some people, that means a shorter, more focused treatment plan. For others, it means longer-term, ongoing support. We figure that out together.
If you're looking for a therapist who will actually tailor the work to you — not hand you a generic plan — I'd love to connect. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation here.

I do not accept insurance directly. I know that can feel like a barrier, so I want to make sure you have everything you need to make it work.
Here's how I can help: I provide a superbill, a detailed receipt with all the clinical and billing information your insurance company requires, which you can submit directly to your provider for out-of-network reimbursement. Many plans do reimburse a portion of out-of-network therapy costs, so it's absolutely worth checking with your insurance company about your specific benefits.
I also accept FSA (Flexible Spending Account) and HSA (Health Savings Account) payments, which can make a real difference in offsetting the cost of sessions.
If you have questions about fees or want to talk through your options before committing to anything, just reach out. I'm happy to have that conversation. Contact me here or schedule a free consultation.

I am licensed to provide telehealth therapy in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, Illinois, and North Dakota. New Hampshire is coming soon! If you're unsure whether your state is covered, just reach out, I'd hate for location to stand between you and getting the support you need.

Telehealth therapy is simply therapy conducted via secure video, rather than in person. For most people, it's just as effective as in-office sessions and far more convenient. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection. As a Board-Certified Telemental Health Provider, I'm specifically trained in delivering care this way, so you can feel confident you're getting the full therapeutic experience, wherever you are.
